Degenerative Disc Disease

Degenerative Disc Disease Treatment in Cartersville, Georgia

Dr. Lotterer's adjustments are gentle and hold longer.

Dr. Sean Lotterer graduated from Life University in 2000 and is a veteran of the U.S. armed forces. He has been in chiropractic practice in Cartersville, GA with his wife Jennifer for the last 7 years. Sean is also a member of the Foundation for Wellness Professionals, a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to teach the community about disease prevention and healthy habits.

In addition to this standard chiropractic training, Sean attended the Masterpiece program in Colorado, where he was trained in a refined way of adjusting with ease rather than with tension. Light Force Adjustment recognizes that if you do an adjustment while the patient is relaxed it tends to hold it better, but adjustments done while tense can cause a spasm.

Dr. Lotterer’s goal is to successfully treat the condition so that the patient can complete their corrective care and achieve a goal of a healthy body. He has successfully treated many patients with Degenerative Disc Disease, including those whose condition was previously considered “irreversible” or “permanent.”

Dr. Lotterer’s mission is to provide outstanding Chiropractic care to families and to teach them the cause of sickness and disease. He does this by empowering them and inspiring them to make life style changes so they can be healthier and stay healthy for a lifetime.

Effective, Gentle Treatment

Effective, Gentle Chiropractic Treatment

Dr. Lotterer treats degenerative disc disease gently and effectively.

First Dr. Lotterer takes a medical history of this and related medical problems. He does the appropriate diagnostic testing, including any necessary X-rays, which are done in-house. He then compiles a medical report, which he reviews with the patient, and which includes showing the X-ray film, fully explaining the condition and going over the treatment plan.

There are four phases of Degenerative Disc Disease: Phases 0, 1, 2 and 3. Phase 0 and 1 have traditional been considered reversible, but not Phases 2 and 3.

For Phase 0 and 1 patients, Dr. Lotterer’s treatment plan includes chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy, stretching, movement and flexing and strengthening the muscles. These correct the condition, strengthen the area and allow for the disc to regrow.

Phase 2 and 3 patients have been considered to have a “permanent” condition. However, Dr. Lotterer has successfully reversed degenerative disc disease. He does this by using the therapies as he uses for Phase 0 and 1 patients, and adding nutritional supplements that allow the body to repair itself and regenerate the affected cartilage and connective tissue

“I had tried chiropractic care years ago with a different doctor and was not pleased. I met Dr. Sean J. Lotterer and decided he was different – he actually cares – so I thought why not. I wake up daily with a headache due to disc problems in my neck. This has been going on for years. After the first adjustment I had exciting news…no headache! The second day … no headache! I am now a believer! I can’t wait to see what I am going to be like a year from now. Hopefully pain free!!! Thank you Dr. Sean!”
